Sewage treatment plant cleaning and repairs April 14 2012

Thanks goes to Franklin for continuing and pursuing this work continuously and sticking with it and providing updates to us.

As a result of the approval for STP cleaning and repairs that we received from the committee for the cost that need to be incurred for Rs.37,200 work was started this weekend. The update from Franklin regarding this subject is as follows.

"Just to keep you folks updated - The STP tank cleaning started last night but the guys couldn't move forward as the sludge in our tank was so much harder and deeper (at least 7-8 feet of hard sludge) that their suction pump did not have enough power to pull the stuff out. Given the amount of work involved - today they are coming with more human force(at least 8 people;yesterday there were only 4) and a high powered suction motor to deal with this. The work will start after 11:00 PM tonight.

The security guys have been instructed to do a review of the tanks post the cleaning & before the system resumes. We will have an update tomorrow."

Update on 14 Apr 2012
----------------------------------

The sludge removal work seems to be much harder than the company anticipated and about 2 feet of sludge is removed and more sludge is still in the tank.

We will not be able to provide STP water to the garden for few more days apart from the last 2 days when STP water supply was not provided.

We will provide alternate water supply if we know that the situation is going to persist for few more days.

We also apologize to Flat G2 (Mr.Jitendra Singh) for the sludge dump outside his window and we are asking the Sludge remover to remove the Sludge asap. The sludge remover says that we did not expect that the task is so overwhelming and that is why it is taking more time.

Dear Neeraj,

We received your quotation No: Q0319121920 dt: 19 March 2012 for Rs.

Dear Mr.Ranga

The Quotation No:Q0319121920 dated 19.March.2012 is  only for the change of the media in Pressurized Sand Filter and Activated Carbon Filter and cleaning of the tanks is not included.
The Quotation No:Q05012012 dated 05.January.2012 is for the cleaning of the STP tanks.
For your reference attaching both the quotation.
However, if you have any queries please feel free to contact us.

Look forward to your business

Subject: Fwd: Quotation for Repair and Maintanence work for STP at Vanshee Eldorado

Dear Core committee members,

We received a quote for Rs.18,000 earlier for Tank cleaning and sludge removal.

That cleaning process would have only made the situation little better and help us from avoiding getting penalties from the government  for sending untreated water into the drainage. It would not be much different from the current situation when it comes to water quality.

The reason for that is because the Water has to go thru two filters and the filters in non-working condition due to incorrect usage and improper maintenance procedures. To fix the filters and make the water usable almost close to potable water it would cost an additional Rs.19,200 to fix the whole system and get the STP to a working condition as it is supposed to work.

The total cost to fix and get our STP operational again is Rs.37,200 and the Rs.19,200 has to be done first and then the Rs.18,000 procedure has to be done.

Is it ok to go ahead with the STP fixing process at a cost of Rs.37,200?

Thanks,
Ranga.
